THOR Laser Therapy

Here at Skocik Chiropractic, we are proud to offer THOR laser therapy for pain relief and healing to the Harrisburg, Hershey, Progress, Colonial Park, Lower Paxton, and Grantville, PA community.

THOR Laser Therapy

THOR laser therapy involves the use of low level laser light, usually between 600nm and 1,000nm, to facilitate healing and reduce the pain associated with soft tissue injuries.  The light produces a photochemical reaction in the cells.  There is a certain area within each cell that is sensitive to light.  When the laser light penetrates these areas, it is turned into energy for cellular regeneration.

Low level laser therapy from our chiropractor, Dr. Albert Skocik, is beneficial for the treatment of repetitive motion injuries, sports injuries and acute and chronic injuries.  LLLT is beneficial in treating all types of musculoskeletal injuries whether you were hurt last week or last year.

Laser Therapy Treatments with our Chiropractor for the Harrisburg, Hershey, Progress, Colonial Park, Lower Paxton, and Grantville, PA communities

Our chiropractor and staff at Skocik Chiropractic can examine your injuries and determine if you would benefit from THOR laser therapy.  During your initial visit, our chiropractor, Dr. Skocik, will talk to you about your injuries and pain.  He will ask when the pain started and its severity.  He may also request digital images in order to accurately pinpoint the location of your sports or repetitive motion injury.

The treatments typically last between one and 10 minutes.  During your session, the laser wand will be placed over the injured area and activated.  There is no need to shave or cut the skin.  The light penetrates through the skin and deep into the tissues to speed up the healing process.

Most individuals notice a reduction in pain and an increase in range of motion of the injured area after the first few sessions.  Acute injuries may only need a few sessions.  Chronic injuries or injuries that you have had for a long period of time may need several treatments each week for several weeks.  If you have arthritis or a degenerative joint disease, you may need period treatments in order to keep your pain under control.

To schedule an appointment to see if THOR laser therapy would be right for you, call our Harrisburg chiropractic office at (717) 540-8448.  Skocik Chiropractic is located at 5431 Jonestown Rd.  We are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.  We are closed for lunch from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m.  If you need a Saturday appointment, call us for a morning appointment.
